Hello everybody! It's time for more fun with Spanish!
To further the students' exposure to the Spanish language in different ways, 2nd, 3rd and 4th grade students will have the opportunity to participate in the Spanish club. Parents, please make sure you fill in the information below if your child will be attending the club. Your reply is necessary in order for your child to be allowed in the club. Space is limited to the first 30 students registering online.
Please keep in mind that there will be other clubs going on at the same time and day (chorus and art). Please make sure your child's attendance to any club is not interrupted due to registration in multiple clubs.
What to Expect:
When:
Every Thursday, from September 12th- March 13th. Once students have been
dismissed in the afternoon, I will pick them up from the gym to take them to the Spanish classroom. Parents will be notified by email of any necessary changes to the schedule.
Pick Up:
Students should be picked up from the Spanish classroom, in building # 2 at 4:00 PM. Please be on time to pick up your child. Thursday is a busy day in building # 2 due to music and art clubs going on the same day. If you would like to avoid the hallway traffic, you are welcome to come in through the patio door of my room. (last door in building 2)
Students will not be allowed to leave the room on their own to carpool. A parent or guardian must go in the room to pick up the student. If you have arrangements with other parents to pick up your child, I will need a written consent from you. Please understand this is for the students' safety. Students that are registered to attend the after school program A.K.A WINGS, will be dismissed at 4:00 PM to that room.
The last 20 minutes will be used to play either an indoor or outdoor game from the Hispanic culture. Please be patience until we are finished with the game...I promise we will be finished by 4:00 PM.
Attendance:
Unexpected things happen, but please make sure your child regularly attends the club to ensure progress, and that other club members have their partner available for activities that require the same partner. So, to ensure that your child keeps a spot, please make sure that he/she does not accumulate more than 3 absences total.
The last day we will have a fiesta with light food and drinks, provided that each family sends an item for the party. If the students choose to have a performance in Spanish, parents will be invited in advance to watch. It's their club, so I will let them decide that :)
Registration opens August 15 2013. Please do not register prior
this date.
